Photoquest 4

This page is archived from a static page – some links may not work

In a continuation of the Photo blog entries that are increasingly becoming prevalent on this page I have just completed a challenge for Flip who monthly posts a list of common items for people to capture on digital photographic media. The idea stems from the fact that this medium allows us to communicate easily with people from different parts of the world, people who’s normal everyday items are different to our items (and vice versa)

Your favourite breakfast beverage

preferably in the box or bottle it was bought or poured into after manufacturing.

I do not have a lot of time in the morning, so breakfast for me is a glass of milk at home and then a breakfast bar in the car later.

A parking lot

preferably not one outside a shop. If you can get a parking meter into the photo I’d be overjoyed

Instead of a standard parking meter, I decided to capture the pay station at the Perth International Airport terminal, which incidental is the only place in Perth where you need to mortgage your house in order to park for 20 minutes!

your usual means of transportation

My Car…

I think this may not be the first photo I have placed on this site!

Your wrist-watch

or the clock you most frequently look at when you need to know what time it is

I’m one of these strange people who don’t wear a watch. I do occasionally, but generally I tend to just check out the clock on my telephone.

the kind of tree one would be most likely to find

in the area where you live.

Well. I could have gone with the traditional tree in my area, which is usually a palm tree, but it is hardly native to this area. There are plenty of gum trees in the nature reserve around the corner from my house and that was where I was originally planning to go to. In the end I took the kids down to Hyde Park to take photographs of the Morton Bay fig trees that grow there. Also not native to this area, but interesting non the less.

An emergency vehicle

preferably on an assignment

If I am able to get a vehicle on assignment then I will replace this image. For now though, we have an ambulance. One of two waiting outside the emergency department of Royal Perth Hospital
